Old Spitalfields Market: Antiques Day

DSC_0015_2
When I was a little boy early on Friday mornings my dad would often take me to the Bermondsey Antiques Market, which fascinated me. Especially, as I had been told that under some obscure medieval English law the traders were allowed to sell "dodgy" and stolen goods (See: Marché ouvert).

Ever since then I have loved antique markets and I now continue the tradition with my one-year-old Arthur, taking him to antique markets. Above and below, some of those traders at the Spitalfields market and a short movie about a new evaluation programme Old Spitalfields Market is pioneering, which I thought may interest you...

The market also occasionally showcases the work of young designers, graduates who have recently finished studying in Menswear, Womenswear and Accessories design in the UK. Giving you the chance to see and buy the work of talented new British designers. For the dates of these events click here

There are a lot of visitors in town and sometimes I imagine what it would be like to win the lotto and travel the world. As I dream I start to make a list in my mind of the first things I'd like to buy, and a simple stainless steel Rolex watch always makes it, as great looking for travel and as a main sports watch.

Luise mentioned that one of our partner Time and Gems, the independent Rolex retailer is giving away your choice of a Men’s or Ladie’s Diamond Rolex watch (Estimated Retail $7000).

All you need to do is sign up for their newsletter where they'll send you exclusive Rolex discounts (only for subscribers) as well as entertaining Rolex-related articles written by their team of Rolex experts. Check it out here >>

London Style: Everything from Charity Shops...

DSC_0017

This subject had come up from Devon in the west country, staying in London much longer then she had expected. She needed things to wear and went Charity shop hunting.
Everything she was wearing she told me was from charity shops. Notice the safety-pin holding her skirt closed on her left hip....
