Just to be clear, we are not fans of fur, especially not new fur. However, we find it interesting when people use recycled or fake fur. Here are the last recent examples.

I think wearing fake furs should be OK, however, recycled fur should be keep un-exposed to avoid it becoming a fashion statement. wearin fur for the sake of fashion should be abandon totally.

Fur's fine as long as it's recycled or vintage. The money made from recycled fur doesn't go to support the original manufacturer in killing animals for fur, and it would be a waste of some animal's life to have a great fur coat or something just gathering dust in a vintage shop. I don't know wether I'd feel comfortable wearing fur, but I wouldn't feel guilty about buying it second-hand.
I'm not really a fan of fake fur, though, it probably harms animals (and people) in the manufacturing process nearly as much as real fur, since it's made of chemicals.

agree with anonymous. would be wrong to dispose of these items. they need to be respected. and just to make it clear, I am vegetarian and do not support the fur trade. A lot of the anti-fur in fashion people don't consider the fact that the leather industry is not just a by-product of the meat industry, and is pretty horrendous. This gets bypassed as leather is so accepted. I think it totally unethical not to make use of vintage fur.

new fur, no. for some reason it's got some "look at me, I am rich and wear expensive coats" -vibe to me. recycled fur's much better, since the money made from selling vtg-fur doesn't go to the original maker. it doesn't support any manufacturer to kill more animals. the only problem is that adding vintage fur to the street image will eventually cause fur in general to be more acknowledged.

fur is wrong ... recycled or not, I think it's just give a wrong message that it's ok to wear it and it's clearly not
